1. Ensure all other remodeling tasks are completed.

projects. While it may seem minor, it is crucial to finish all other remodeling work before
your flooring installation day, including repairs and painting. Installing new floors should
be the final step in your home renovation process.

3. Establish a designated work zone.
Flooring installers require a designated workspace to prepare and store materials
outside of the installation area. Clear and designate this workspace, such as your
garage or an empty driveway, before the installation day to facilitate seamless work and
reduce downtime. Remove any obstacles that may hinder the installer's path between
the work zone and the installation space.

4. Clear the installation area.
Before flooring installation, clear the installation area by removing all items from floors
and walls, disconnecting appliances and electronics, arranging furniture removal,
emptying water beds, and cleaning existing floors. Cover items you want to protect from
damage and ensure the room, including closets, is completely emptied.

5. Ensure ventilation.
Ventilate the installation area with fresh air during and after installation by opening
windows, using fans, or employing heavy-duty fans if necessary. Good ventilation is
essential for a successful installation and prevents odors or fumes from accumulating.

6. Keep children and pets safe.
For safety reasons, keep children and pets away from the installation area and work
zone during flooring installation. Arrange childcare or pet-sitting as needed to ensure a
safe environment for the installers and your loved ones.

7. Block out your calendar.
Be available at home on the installation day to let installers inside, show them the work
zone and installation area, and answer any questions that may arise during the process.
Your presence ensures a smooth installation and allows for immediate communication
with the installers.

8. Communicate with your installers.
Maintain open communication with your flooring installers by asking questions, sharing
requests, and addressing any concerns before, during, and after the installation.

Anticipate unforeseen challenges during the installation process, such as sub-floor
conditions requiring additional preparation. Stay flexible and prepared to address
